The Mathew Foundation & committee is a Rhode Island non-profit organization that firmly believes that no child should be forgotten or forced to suffer simply due to their parents’ nationalities. Our mission is to help the immigrant mothers and fathers whom are being unjustly deported from the United States and the children left behind who are the most affected by these deportations.

Millions of children in the United States live in unnecessary poverty, broken homes or are in state custody. The mass deportations currently sweeping the country will only make these statistics worse and contribute to the growing epidemic of children stripped of hope and of futures at risk. The Mathew foundation & committee seeks to put a stop to this epidemic in hopes that we can one day live in a world were children are not subjected to this type of unnecessary suffering .

After the co-founder of the Mathew foundation and committee, Edwardo Mathew a legal permanent resident of the United States, father and husband to a U.S. born American wife and son was unjustly detained by the Immigration and Customs Services for a small discrepancy on his paperwork it became clear to him and his family that something had to be done to stop these devastatingly unfair practices from occurring to others.

Mathew along with others from Aruba, United States, Africa, Italy, Jamaica and a variety of South American Countries who are equally concerned about the growing trend of mass deportations across the United States founded the Mathew foundation & committee with a zero tolerance for unequal treatment, for families being torn apart and for torture and inhumane treatment due to race or nationality.

WHAT ARE WE DOING?

The Mathew foundation & committee works to keep families intact, by bring people together to raise awareness to the devastating effects of deportations and detentions.

The Mathew foundation & committee works to feed the children whom are facing extreme hardship due to these deportations and detentions by donating food and other essentials.

The Mathew foundation & committee donates Clothes for children during the cold winter seasons as part of our keep the children warm program.

Most importantly The Mathew Foundation & Committee works to educate adults and children about our history so that the brutal practices of torture and racial targeting won’t continue to repeat itself.
